Who We Are

 Renewing Christian Disciples,

Strengthening Local Churches

Crossroads Emmaus Community is a 501(c)(3) non-profit made up of people from Southeastern Pennsylvania counties, created to build disciples of Christ and strengthen local church leaders through the Walk to Emmaus® ministry.

The Walk to Emmaus® is a spiritual renewal program intended to strengthen the local church by developing Christian disciples and leaders. The program’s approach seriously considers the model of Christ’s servanthood and encourages Christ’s disciples to act in ways appropriate to being “a servant to all”.

The Walk to Emmaus is an experience of Christian spiritual renewal and formation that begins with a three-day short course in Christianity. It is an opportunity to meet Jesus Christ in a new way as God’s grace and love is revealed to you through other believers.

The Walk to Emmaus experience begins with prayerful discernment and an invitation from a sponsor.  After one accepts this invitation they complete an application for the three-day experience.  The Emmaus leaders prayerfully consider each applicant and in God’s time, the person is invited to attend a three-day "walk" to experience New Testament Christianity as a lifestyle.

Following the three-day experience, participants are often joined in small groups to support each other in their ongoing walk with Christ.  Through the formational process of accountable discipleship in small groups and participation in the Emmaus community, each participant’s individual gifts and servant-leadership skills are continually developed for use in the local church and its mission.  Participants are encouraged to find ways to live out their individual call to discipleship in their home, church, and community.

The objective of The Walk to Emmaus is to inspire, challenge, and equip the local church members for Christian action in their homes, churches, communities and places of work.  Emmaus lifts up a way for our grace-filled lives to be lived and shared with others.

SPONSORSHIP

You think you might be interested in sponsoring someone…but who, and what do you need to know? Here are some quick thoughts

  1. PRAY!
  2. Get moving😊 The deadline for sponsor applications is March 25!
  3. The Men’s 71st Walk is April 8-11, 2027 and the Women’s 71st Walk is April 15-18, 2027. Both held at Camp Innabah.
  4. The cost to sponsor a pilgrim is currently $195. If that’s a problem please let someone know, money is not a reason not to sponsor someone! Or even better, find a friend to help you sponsor.
  5. Pray about who God might want to attend the walk and listen to His promptings.
